Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients in a hospital setting. The OB RN will care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients while collaborating with obstetricians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe maternal and newborn outcomes. This role requires strong clinical judgment, fetal monitoring expertise, and the ability to respond effectively in high-acuity situations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for antepartum and postpartum patients
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate tracings and uterine activity
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and obstetric procedures
• Provide postpartum care, including pain management and maternal assessments
• Educate patients and families on labor expectations, breastfeeding, newborn care, and recovery
• Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric emergencies
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols
Required Qualifications:
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent OB or Labor & Delivery experience preferred
• Current BLS certification
• NRP certification required (or ability to obtain)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of fetal monitoring and obstetric care practices
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Pay Rate
$71.69 - $76.57/hour
