Position Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Operating Room (OR) Technician to support surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile environments, and assisting surgical teams. The OR Technician plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, surgical efficiency, and compliance with infection control and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare operating rooms by setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Assist with maintaining a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
• Support surgical teams by anticipating needs and providing appropriate instruments and supplies
• Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and draping
• Perform surgical counts and assist with specimen handling
• Clean, restock, and turnover operating rooms between procedures
• Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and storage of surgical instruments and equipment
• Adhere to infection control policies, safety protocols, and sterile technique standards
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia, and perioperative staff
• Maintain accurate documentation as required
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology or OR Technician program preferred
• Prior experience in an operating room or surgical services environment preferred
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and on-call schedules
Pay Rate
$52.68 - $57.56/hour
