Surgical / Scrub Technologist
Provide specialized support during surgical procedures by preparing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting the surgical team throughout each case. The Surgical/Scrub Technologist ensures instruments and supplies are properly prepared and available to support safe and efficient patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures.
- Set up and maintain the sterile field throughout surgery.
- Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons during procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and maintain an efficient workflow.
- Perform accurate counts of instruments, needles, sponges, and supplies.
- Assist with patient positioning and surgical site preparation.
- Handle specimens according to established procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow infection prevention standards.
- Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room after procedures.
- Report equipment issues or supply shortages promptly.
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other surgical team members.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous operating room or surgical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Pay Rate
$37.60 - $42.48/hour
