Department: Speech Therapy

We really need acute care experience, in particular with video swallow studies.

- Unit: Speech Therapy Meridian Hospital
- # of patients treated per day: 8 to 10. 2-3 therapists staffed per day.
- General Certification Requirements: BLS
- Other Required certs for all SLP: CCC-SLP
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: General medical, stroke/neurological, COPD/CHF, etc.
- Acute Inpatient, Acute Rehab, Skilled, Outpatient: Acute Inpatient; Outpatient VFSS (video fluoroscopic swallow study)
- What areas are they required to cover: All inpatient adult units
- Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties: Must be VFSS competent. Must have ICU experience, 1 year of acute care
experience, okay with first time travelers.
- EMR: EPIC
- Is there a SLP Manager/Supervisor on each shift: Manager
- Do you staff Rehab Aides: No
- Shifts & Scheduling: 4- 10s, 0730-1800. No self scheduling.
- Weekend Requirements: 4 weekend days per 8 week schedule.
- Holiday Requirement: No
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: At least 2 days department onboarding with staff SLP.
- Additional Notes: On the first week, travelers should plan on working M-F 5 8’s to accommodate the onboarding schedule.

**This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.**
