# of suites/labs "Cover multiple areas including: 3 IR suites, CT, MRI, Nuc Med, Ultrasound, & Xray
Primary role will be to provide conscious sedation for procedures in all areas"
#cases per day on average 4 cases per day depending on area
Required Certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS
Job Duties "Provide specialized care for patients undergoing IR procedures, ensuring safety, IV insertion, administering and monitoring sedation, collaborating with teams, and deliving pre, intra, & post procedural care.
Intra procedurally- RNs primary role is to provide and monitor conscious sediation.
May be asked to step into the post-procedural phase of the IR Lab, additionally training will be provided, if needed. "
Common diagnoses/Types of patients Types of cases: bone marrow biopsy, port placement, cerebal angio, anyerusm repairs, uterine bleeds, biopsies (liver, kidney, etc), emergent cases (PEs, strokes, subarc hemorhage, etc.), Cancer, drain placements, tube placements, port placements, fistulas, and more - Typically they have a Neuro provider scheduled for the day and an emergent neuro provider on backup for emergent cases. Two body interventional physicians and two body interventional Client on during the day.
Experience or 'Must have' skills "Must have 2 years of IR experience, Will accept first time traveler
Must be comfortable assisting with pediatric patients , Prefer some critical care experience- ICU or ER "
EMR/Equipment EPIC
Interventionalist hours/on call In house during the day from 7AM- 6PM, then call in the after hours, response time 30 mins
Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Lead IR Nurse, who doesn't take an assignment and is available as a resource
IR Techs Yes, 2-3 Techs per room
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) "4- 9 hours shifts Mon-Fri 7:30-5 with 30 min unpaid lunch
Schedule is made out by the manager, she will ask preferences but doesn't guarentee she can accommodate all asks, travelers are asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling. "

What is call response time? N/A
Floating Requirements May float between IR, CT, MRI, Nuc Med, Ultrasound, & Xray to provide conscious sedation for patients
Scrub Color/Dress Code Scrubs are provided
How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation? 2-4 shifts with preceptor, manager will evaluate traveler skillset and training needs
Additional Notes Everyday is different, they are looking for someone who's willing to jump in and be flexible to assist with their dept needs.
Pay Rate
$74.41 - $79.28/hour
