- Unit: Intensive Care Unit Neonatal Lvl ll Meridian Hospital Flr 3
- Level of NICU: Level 2B – 32 weeks and greater.
- # of Beds: 13
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
- Required Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, Cardiac STABLE
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Premature ≥32 weeks, late preterm, sepsis, hypoglycemia, requiring oxygen (NC, Hi Flow
NC, CPAP), NOWS/NAS, feeding difficulties. Babies that need ventilation will be stabilized and transferred to Boise.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have delivery room high risk resuscitation experience, IV start and lab draw experience.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: May initiate, short term management prior to transport to higher level of care.
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Dopamine, Epinephrine
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: House supervisor on 24/7. Charge RN each shift, usually has an assignment and covers high
risk deliveries.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: CNA for floor (L&D/PP/NICU) 4-5 days and nights/week.
- Neonatologist in house 24/7: Neonatal NP 24/7
- RT Equipment: CPAP used routinely; vents available for emergencies.
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: No
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12-hour shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a. Per hospital policy staff cannot work more than five shifts in a row. We do our
best to accommodate traveler schedule requests outside of approved time off.
- Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs.
- Holiday Requirement: Based on unit needs.
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No
- Floating Requirements: Travelers required to float to like units within the valley (Nampa NICU and Boise NICU) to take a like
assignment. e.g. Here in Meridian we don’t manage vents so travelers would not be expected to take a vented pt in Boise.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: Blue scrubs provided on unit.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: Customized based on each traveler, typically 2-3 shifts.
**This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.**
