RN – PeriOp – Outpatient Surgery Center
Position Summary
Provide skilled perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures. Support preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care while promoting patient safety and efficient surgical workflow.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery.
- Verify patient identity, procedure, consent, and surgical site.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist with circulating duties and maintain a safe perioperative environment.
- Monitor patients during procedures and recognize changes in condition.
- Provide postoperative and recovery care, including pain and vital-sign monitoring.
- Educate patients and families on postoperative care and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team.
- Follow infection-control, sterile technique, and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous perioperative, OR, or outpatient surgery experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or as applicable.
- Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
Pay Rate
$51.32 - $56.20/hour
