Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room (OR). The OR RN will support surgical procedures by coordinating patient care, maintaining a safe surgical environment, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring optimal outcomes throughout the perioperative process. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting.


Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, procedure, and required documentation prior to surgery
• Provide intraoperative nursing support as circulating nurse or scrub nurse as assigned
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure compliance with surgical safety protocols
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other OR team members during procedures
• Monitor patient condition throughout surgical procedures and respond to changes appropriately
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to surgical and nursing protocols
• Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and supplies according to facility standards
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, and documentation of surgical specimens
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) and surgical systems
• Assist with patient positioning, transfer, and post-operative handoff to recovery teams
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards
• Support emergency surgical procedures and maintain readiness for urgent cases


Required Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required based on facility requirements
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative nursing practices
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) and surgical documentation systems preferred

Pay Rate
$58.56 - $63.43/hour
