Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Obstetrics (OB) to provide comprehensive care for women throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn transition periods. The OB RN will monitor maternal and fetal health, administer treatments, provide patient education, and collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, supportive, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive assessments of obstetric patients throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Monitor maternal vital signs, fetal heart rate, contractions, and overall patient status
• Provide nursing care for routine and high-risk obstetric patients
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
• Assist physicians, certified nurse midwives, and healthcare teams during labor, delivery, and obstetric procedures
• Recognize and respond promptly to maternal or fetal complications and emergency situations
• Provide emotional support, comfort measures, and education to patients and families
• Support postpartum recovery, newborn transition, and maternal-infant bonding
• Educate patients regarding prenatal care, labor expectations, breastfeeding, postpartum care, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
• Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and maternal-newborn care standards
Required Qualifications:
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery, or Women’s Health nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred/required based on facility requirements
• Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, maternal care, and newborn care principles
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environment
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
Pay Rate
$71.69 - $76.57/hour
