Job Responsibilities:
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
- Evaluating medical information and providing direct, individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients.
- Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications.
- Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and initiating IV therapy.
- Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, and interpreting and recording measurements.
- Monitoring patients’ vital signs and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with the healthcare team on discharge planning.
- Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgical care.
- Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records.
- Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Acute Facilities: Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience must be within the past year.
- Post-Acute Facilities: Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in either a post-acute facility or an acute care hospital setting. The most recent experience must be within the past year.
- Physical assessment
- Medication administration
- Wound care and infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with EPIC EMR
Pay Rate
$62.19 - $67.07/hour
