Job Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Evaluate medical information and provide direct, individualized bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients.
- Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications accurately.
- Perform clinical procedures such as dressing changes, catheter insertion, and initiation of IV therapy.
- Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment; interpret and record patient measurements.
- Monitor patient vital signs and promptly report any adverse reactions to medications.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning.
- Educate patients and their families regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Maintain and update patient records, medical charts, and health documentation.
- Adhere to established nursing standards, protocols, and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
- Acute Care Facilities:
Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting, with the most recent experience within the past year. - Post-Acute Facilities:
Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a post-acute facility or acute care hospital setting, with recent experience within the past year. - Strong competencies in:
- Physical assessment
- Medication administration
- Wound care and infection control
- IV therapy
- Post-operative care
- Patient education
- Telemetry monitoring
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with EPIC EMR systems
Pay Rate
$62.19 - $67.07/hour
