RN – Intermediate Care
Provide specialized nursing care to patients who require closer monitoring and more complex care than a general medical-surgical unit. The Intermediate Care RN will monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, recognize changes in status, and collaborate with the healthcare team to promote safe and effective patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and closely monitor changes in condition.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and other clinical parameters.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and prescribed treatments.
- Provide care for patients requiring telemetry, oxygen therapy, and increased monitoring.
- Recognize and respond promptly to patient deterioration and clinical emergencies.
- Provide wound care and other skilled nursing interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, and discharge needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and nursing standards.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous intermediate care, progressive care, step-down, telemetry, ICU, or medical-surgical experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, cardiac monitoring, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex patients in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate
$68.09 - $72.97/hour
