Job Title: Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Critical Care

Location: Harborview Medical Center
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP

Shift Details

Day Shift: 4 x 12-hour shifts
Hours: 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Must work all scheduled shifts
Facility cannot accommodate scheduling requests outside approved RTO
Block scheduling available

Position Summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with recent critical care experience to join its Respiratory Care Services team. Candidates must have strong adult critical care and trauma experience and be comfortable managing complex respiratory patients in a Level I Trauma Center environment.

Required Qualifications

Active Washington State Respiratory Care License (required at submission)
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
Critical Care experience within the last 12 months
Level I Trauma experience required
BLS certification
Epic EMR experience required
Pending licenses not accepted

Preferred Qualifications

Pediatric experience preferred but not required
Candidates must be willing to be trained in pediatric care

Clinical Experience Requirements

Experience caring for:

Adult trauma patients
Burn patients
Medically complex critical care patients
Neurologically complex patients
Tracheostomy patients
Spinal cord injury patients
Patients with complex sleep-disordered breathing
Adult ICU populations

Required Skills

Respiratory monitoring and assessment
Mechanical ventilator management
Oxygen therapy administration
Critical care respiratory interventions
Trauma patient respiratory management
Adult ICU respiratory care

Patient Population

Burn/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (BPICU)
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU)
Emergency Department patients, including ECLS transfers
Patients of all ages (pediatric volume is generally low)

Assignment Details

First-time travelers accepted
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On-Call Requirement: None
Floating Requirement: No floating required
Local candidates accepted
Local radius restriction: None

Any solid-color scrubs permitted
Light blue scrubs provided on the unit

Located approximately 1 mile from Harborview
Shuttle service every 10 minutes
Shuttle operating hours: 5:00 AM – 10:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Not available on nights, weekends, or holidays

Screening Notes

Must have critical care experience within the last 12 months.
Must hold both an active WA license and RRT credential.
Pediatric experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be willing to train in pediatric care.

Pay Rate
$51.80 - $56.68/hour
