Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The RRT will assess respiratory status, administer therapeutic treatments, manage ventilators, perform diagnostic testing, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, nebulizer treatments, and other respiratory therapies
- Initiate, monitor, and manage mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and assist with pulmonary function testing as appropriate
- Respond to respiratory emergencies, rapid response events, and code blue situations
- Assist with airway management, intubation, extubation, and bronchoscopy procedures
- Monitor patient response to therapy and recommend treatment modifications when appropriate
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, medications, treatments, and home respiratory equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Active state Respiratory Therapist license where required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required or preferred based on facility requirements
- PALS and NRP certifications preferred for facilities serving pediatric or neonatal patients
- Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management, airway care, respiratory assessment, and critical care procedures
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
