Floating within Hospital: Yes, float to all acute care units, rehab and boarding areas. Travelers on the Resource Team will float to the ED, PACU, ICU or other boarding areas to take care of patients that are boarding patients. Dayshift: potential to change units 3 times over 12hr. UWMC has many gynecology, urology, and oncology patients that can actually be dispersed anywhere in the hospital, including our boarding areas.

Pending License accepted: No
RTO Restrictions: Aim to keep RTO to a minimum (6 days off) to maximize scheduling flexibility. Stricter limits during Peak Summer and Peak Winter Holiday periods.

Special Notes: Epidural Med Experience Highly Preferred
Position Requirements: This is a 450 bed facility with 290 acute care beds-Medical-Surgical, BMT and Oncology, Cardiac Surg, Telemetry, Neuro, Rehab, Transplant, Short Stay and boarding units. Travelers will get orientation to 5 different units over 3 (12hr) shifts and will then float to all acute care units, rehab and boarding areas. Travelers on the Resource Team will float to the ED, PACU, ICU or other boarding areas to take care of patients that are boarding patients. Dayshift: potential to change units 3 times over 12hr.

Looking for travelers with the following:
* High acuity acute care with charge nurse not in staffing ratios (boarding charge in staffing ratios)
* Teaching facility experience highly preferred
* Experience titrating insulin and Heparin drips, Highly preferred
* Experience with PCA's, and managing Epidural Medications such as Ketamine
*Skills checklist and references must be completed within the past 6 months by a direct supervisor (not a charge RN)

Guaranteed Hours:
In the event of low census Healthcare Providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call (for standard on-call rate) in *** hour increments up to 1 shifts worth of hours in a 2 week cycle.
For ambulatory or surgical services areas that are closed on weekends and holidays, Hospitals will not schedule travelers or meet the minimum during these periods.
