Experience Requirements: Oncology experience preferred but not required. at least 2 years of nursing experience.
License/ Certifications Requirements: IL License, BLS
Floating Requirements: require to float within scope
Weekend Requirements: as needed
On call: none
Holiday: as needed
Notes:We are an 18 bed oncology unit. Our patient population is primarily straight oncology patients. Our most seen diagnoses include anemias, pain control, neutropenia, shortness of breath/pneumonia, etc. We also administer inpatient chemotherapy, although the agency RN would not be chemo competent, therefore would not be administering chemotherapy. We do also take inpatient hospice patients. On the night shift, our nurses take 5-6 patients and have 1-2 PCTs on the floor to support the nurses.
Orientation: Wed/Thursdays; 12 hours total (5ish hours of computer work, 6-7 hours on the floor)
Orientation hours:7am-7pm or 11am-11pm (depending on EPIC training resources available)
