Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist
Position Summary
We are seeking a Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist to develop accurate radiation treatment plans for patients undergoing cancer therapy. The dosimetrist will work closely with radiation oncologists and radiation therapists to ensure safe and effective delivery of prescribed treatments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and calculate radiation treatment plans based on physician prescriptions.
- Use treatment planning systems to optimize dose distribution.
- Perform dose calculations and verify treatment parameters.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, and radiation therapists.
- Review treatment plans for accuracy, quality, and clinical appropriateness.
- Assist with treatment planning for complex techniques such as IMRT, VMAT, and stereotactic treatments.
- Document treatment plans and maintain accurate patient records.
- Perform quality assurance activities related to treatment planning.
- Identify and resolve treatment planning issues or discrepancies.
- Follow radiation safety, quality, and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Dosimetry, Radiation Therapy, or a related field.
- Completion of an accredited medical dosimetry program preferred.
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) credential preferred or required as applicable.
- Knowledge of radiation treatment planning systems and techniques.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Pay Rate
$143,520.00 - $200,000.00/year
