Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to assist Physical Therapists in providing rehabilitation services to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, illnesses, and other conditions affecting mobility and function. The PTA will implement treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional independence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and functional mobility activities
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises, home exercise programs, and the safe use of assistive devices
  • Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and mobility training
  • Apply therapeutic modalities and interventions within the PTA scope of practice
  • Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation techniques, injury prevention, body mechanics, and fall prevention
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Ensure treatment areas and rehabilitation equipment are clean, organized, and maintained
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Adhere to infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and facility policies
  • Promote compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting patients in achieving rehabilitation goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and patient care practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered rehabilitation care
