Job Description:

Position: Physical Therapist / Occupational Therapist

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Rehabilitation Director, the therapist is responsible for providing and directing physical therapy services, coordinating department operations, administering prescribed therapy treatments, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. The role includes patient evaluations, treatment planning, quality improvement participation, staff coordination, and maintaining efficient department operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, assess, and treat patients based on physician referrals
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of therapy equipment
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and rehabilitation goals
  • Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement activities
  • Assist with department budgeting and monitoring departmental performance
  • Train and support departmental and hospital staff as needed
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

  • Current California Physical Therapist license/certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy modalities, anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitative medicine
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office knowledge required

  • Ability to assess and reassess patients across all age groups
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and during crisis situations
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterile techniques
  • Ability to safely operate therapy equipment and maintain department safety
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to patient confidentiality

  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and annual evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with ethical and organizational policies
  • Maintain accurate records and complete assigned tasks on time
