Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience to support complex cardiac and vascular surgical procedures. The CVOR Tech will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure a sterile, safe, and efficient operative environment while assisting in life-saving cardiovascular procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
• Ensure proper sterilization and setup of surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
• Assist surgeons during procedures such as open-heart surgery, valve replacements, and bypass surgeries
• Maintain sterile field and adhere strictly to aseptic techniques
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments and supplies accordingly
• Handle and prepare specialized CVOR instruments including grafts, sutures, and implants
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and intraoperative support
• Perform surgical counts (instruments, sponges, needles) in accordance with policy
• Assist with specimen handling and labeling
• Clean and restock operating rooms following procedures
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency cardiovascular procedures


Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required per facility
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent CVOR or open-heart surgical experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Experience with sterile technique and operating room protocols
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and assist with physically demanding procedures

Pay Rate
$60.28 - $65.16/hour
