Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide specialized therapeutic services to infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU Occupational Therapist will assess developmental needs of premature and medically fragile infants, implement individualized therapy interventions, and collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to support neurodevelopmental growth, feeding readiness, and family-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive developmental evaluations for premature and medically fragile infants
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans focused on neurodevelopmental outcomes
• Provide therapeutic interventions including positioning, sensory integration, feeding support, and motor development activities
• Monitor infant responses to therapy and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Support feeding readiness and oral motor development in collaboration with clinical teams
• Educate parents and caregivers on developmental care, positioning, and stimulation techniques
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols


Required Qualifications:

• Active, unrestricted Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice
• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Current NBCOT certification required
• Minimum 1–2 years of neonatal, pediatric, or NICU therapy experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of neonatal development and neurodevelopmental care practices
• Experience with feeding therapy and sensory-based interventions preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient/family education skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity neonatal care environment

Pay Rate
$78.17 - $83.05/hour
