Position Summary:

We are seeking a flexible and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical to provide high-quality nursing care across Medical-Surgical units based on staffing and patient care needs. The RN will assess patients, administer treatments, monitor patient progress, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
  • Provide direct nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients with a variety of acute conditions
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
  • Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, laboratory results, and responses to treatment
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies
  • Float between Medical-Surgical units as assigned to meet staffing needs
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of acute care nursing, medication administration, patient assessment, and post-operative care
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in different Medical-Surgical units

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred
  • CMSRN or MEDSURG-BC certification preferred
  • Previous float pool or travel nursing experience preferred
  • Experience caring for diverse adult medical and surgical patient populations
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility, and patient education skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required

Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
