Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech)
Position Summary
Perform specialized mammography examinations to assist in the early detection and diagnosis of breast conditions. Operate mammography equipment safely, obtain high-quality images, and provide compassionate patient care throughout the examination process.
Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures according to established protocols.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients before examinations.
- Operate mammography equipment safely and effectively.
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images using proper positioning and technique.
- Review images for quality and repeat examinations when necessary.
- Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles.
- Maintain accurate and timely imaging documentation.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues.
- Maintain patient privacy, comfort, and safety throughout procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography required or preferred as applicable.
- Current state radiologic technologist license, if required.
- Previous mammography experience preferred.
- Strong technical, communication, patient-care, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Knowledge of breast imaging procedures, radiation safety, and infection-control standards.
Pay Rate
$73,008.00 - $109,491.00/year
