Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. The LPN assists with assessments, administers medications, monitors patient conditions, and supports the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, or home health settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments within the LPN scope of practice.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and other patient health indicators.
- Assist RNs and physicians with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures.
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions to the supervising nurse or physician promptly.
- Document nursing care accurately and maintain patient records according to facility policies.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans, medication administration, and health maintenance.
- Follow infection control standards, safety protocols, and facility policies.
- Respond to patient needs promptly and assist in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the relevant state or region.
- Completion of an accredited LPN program.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare education preferred.
- Strong understanding of nursing practices, patient care procedures, and medication administration.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and dependable.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.
Pay Rate
$28.36 - $33.24/hour
