Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery & Postpartum
Position Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, support safe deliveries, provide postpartum care, and educate patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Perform maternal and fetal assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, and labor progression.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist with labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.
- Monitor postpartum recovery, including bleeding, pain, and vital signs.
- Recognize and respond to maternal or fetal complications and emergencies.
- Provide newborn care and support breastfeeding and bonding.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, medications, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous Labor & Delivery and postpartum nursing experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NRP preferred or as applicable.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.
Pay Rate
$71.90 - $76.78/hour
