Director of Nursing (DON)
Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing all nursing operations within a nursing home or long-term care facility. The DON ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care, maintains regulatory compliance, manages nursing staff, and promotes a safe and supportive environment for residents and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise all nursing services and clinical operations within the facility.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, department heads, residents, and families to coordinate care.
- Manage staffing schedules and ensure adequate nursing coverage.
- Manage departmental budgets, supplies, and resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous leadership experience in a Long-Term Care (LTC), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), or Nursing Home setting.
- Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey processes, and nursing standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead interdisciplinary teams.
Pay Rate
$67.13 - $72.00/hour
