CVPICU RN – Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Position Summary

Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular and critical-care needs. Monitor patients closely, manage advanced therapies, and respond quickly to changes in condition.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive pediatric and cardiovascular assessments.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and hemodynamic status.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as ordered.
  • Manage ventilators, invasive lines, drains, and other critical-care equipment.
  • Monitor patients before and after cardiac procedures and surgeries.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration and emergencies.
  • Assist with procedures, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill patients.
  • Educate and support patients’ families throughout the course of care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow safety and infection-control standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Previous PICU, CVICU, pediatric, or cardiovascular critical-care experience preferred.
  • BLS and PALS required; ACLS preferred/required as applicable.
  • Strong pediatric assessment, critical-thinking, and emergency-response skills.
  • Excellent communication and family-centered care abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity pediatric environment.

Pay Rate
$71.14 - $76.02/hour
