Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The COTA will assist patients with therapeutic activities and daily living skills to improve independence and functional abilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment according to the Occupational Therapist’s plan of care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional tasks.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, and mobility.
- Assist with fine motor, cognitive, and sensory activities as appropriate.
- Monitor patient response and progress during treatment.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety.
- Recommend and assist with appropriate adaptive equipment as directed.
- Report patient progress and changes in condition to the Occupational Therapist.
- Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation.
- Follow patient safety, infection control, and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current COTA license or certification in the applicable state.
- Previous clinical experience preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the direction of an Occupational Therapist.
Pay Rate
$37.60 - $42.48/hour
