Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Position Summary
Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Assist patients in improving independence, functional abilities, and participation in daily activities through individualized therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and daily living skills.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional tasks.
- Monitor patient response and progress during treatment.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and home programs.
- Assist with adaptive equipment and techniques to promote independence.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Communicate patient progress and concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
- Follow patient safety, infection-control, and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current and active state COTA license or certification.
- Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Pay Rate
$38.36 - $43.24/hour
