Registered Nurse, Operating Room (OR)
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide safe, high-quality care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN will prepare patients and the surgical environment, assist the surgical team, monitor patients, and ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures.
- Verify surgical orders, patient information, consent, and procedure details.
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and medications.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures as a circulating or scrub nurse, as assigned.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and clinical condition throughout procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow surgical safety protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Assist with positioning, transfers, and safe patient handling.
- Complete surgical counts and maintain accurate documentation.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate surgical supplies and equipment.
- Provide post-operative care and patient education as needed.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Respond appropriately to surgical emergencies.
- Follow infection prevention, safety, and professional nursing standards.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Nursing degree from an accredited program.
- Previous Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety practices.
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and patient-focused.
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
