Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Position Summary
Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures using specialized imaging equipment and radiopharmaceuticals. Ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and proper handling of radioactive materials while supporting quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and explain nuclear medicine procedures.
- Administer and handle radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging studies and operate imaging equipment.
- Position patients and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond to changes or adverse reactions.
- Follow radiation safety and radioactive material handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient, imaging, and procedure documentation.
- Perform equipment checks and report technical issues.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection-control and patient safety standards.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Current Nuclear Medicine certification, such as NMTCB or ARRT(N), as applicable.
- Current state license or registration, if required.
- Previous nuclear medicine clinical experience preferred.
- Strong technical, communication, and patient-care skills.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and radiopharmaceutical handling.
Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
