- Unit: Laboratory Boise Hospital Flr 1
- Certs: Do they need BLS: BLS is not needed for any discipline.
MLT or MT certified: We require certification for MLS and MLT.
Do they need ASCP (American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science) or AMT (American Medical Technologists):
We prefer ASCP certification but will take AMT certification also.
- What areas do they cover: MLS/MLT – Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Rapid Micro, Urinalysis, Molecular. Do not generally staff
travelers in Blood Bank. Process around 2000-2500 labs per day.
- Do they need to be a Generalist: Preferred, yes.
- Do they need to perform Phlebotomy: No
- Experience or 'Must have' skills & common job duties: Must have 2 years of experience as MLS/MLT, must be certified. Ok with a first
time traveler.
- LIS System: EPIC
- EMR/Specific Equipment used in each area: Prefer EPIC experience.
Primary chemistry analyzer- Ortho Vitros
Primary Hematology analyzer- Sysmex"
- Is there a Lab Manager/Supervisor on each shift: Lead on every shift
- Do you staff lab assistants: Yes
- Shifts & Scheduling: Days: 8 hour shifts with variable start times between 0500-0700.
Evenings: Variable 8 or 10 hour shifts with start times between 12-1400
Nights: 10 hour shifts starting at 2030- will try to block shifts together
Travelers will fill in where there is a need.
- Weekend Requirements: depending on shift- weekends as needed.
- Holiday Requirements: as needed
- Call or Standby Call Requirement: not required
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Business casual, lab coats provided.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 1 week to 10 days- will start training in one area and add additional areas as
they progress.
- Additional Notes: Pretty busy lab- looking for people to multitask and keep their eye on multiple areas and be busy.

**This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.**
