OB, L&D Registered Nurse
We are seeking an experienced OB, Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. The L&D RN will monitor maternal and fetal conditions, assist with deliveries, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure safe care for mothers and newborns.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
- Monitor maternal vital signs, contractions, fetal heart rate, and overall patient condition.
- Assist physicians and certified providers during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments according to orders and established protocols.
- Recognize and respond promptly to maternal or fetal complications and emergencies.
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret changes, escalating concerns to the appropriate provider.
- Prepare patients for labor, delivery, procedures, and postpartum recovery.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Promote breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum education as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and obstetric care standards.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatal staff, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in emergency situations, including obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous Labor & Delivery, Obstetrics, or Women's Health nursing experience preferred.
- BLS certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, or AWHONN training may be required based on the role.
- Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal assessment and labor management.
- Ability to recognize and respond to high-risk obstetric situations.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong teamwork and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate
$83.33 - $88.21/hour
