Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) to provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The ER RN will assess, triage, stabilize, and treat patients with acute illnesses, traumatic injuries, and life-threatening conditions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage protocols
- Assess, stabilize, and monitor patients with medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed
- Assist with trauma care, resuscitations, code blue events, and other emergency procedures
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment
- Operate emergency equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and defibrillators
- Collect specimens and assist with diagnostic testing and bedside procedures
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- TNCC certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) or Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, emergency medications, and critical care principles
- Excellent assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency environment
