Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Progressive Care Unit (MedSurg/PCU) to provide high-quality nursing care for patients with acute medical, surgical, and progressive care needs. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care for patients with medical, surgical, and progressive care conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
- Monitor patient conditions, cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and response to treatment, promptly reporting significant changes.
- Care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and intermediate-level nursing care.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient education.
- Perform wound care, catheter care, dressing changes, and other nursing procedures.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg, PCU, Step-Down, or Telemetry nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
