Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to adult medical-surgical patients requiring cardiac and continuous telemetry monitoring. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in clinical status, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, oxygenation, and changes in patient condition.
- Interpret basic telemetry rhythms and promptly report abnormal findings.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Provide wound care, catheter care, specimen collection, and other nursing procedures.
- Monitor laboratory and diagnostic results and communicate significant changes to providers.
- Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration and medical emergencies.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, procedures, and discharges.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, telemetry staff, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required/preferred based on assignment requirements.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of adult medical-surgical nursing, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessment.
- Ability to recognize and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred.
- Previous acute-care hospital experience.
- Experience caring for cardiac, post-surgical, respiratory, and medically complex patients.
- Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition.
- ACLS certification preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
