Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist (U/S Tech) to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a hospital or outpatient setting. The Ultrasound Technologist will produce accurate diagnostic images, ensure patient safety and comfort, and collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to support timely diagnosis and treatment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the process and ensuring patient comfort
  • Position patients appropriately to obtain optimal diagnostic images
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images
  • Evaluate image quality and obtain additional images when necessary for diagnostic accuracy
  • Recognize and communicate significant findings to the interpreting physician according to facility protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and PACS
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and report malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Active ARDMS certification (or equivalent credential) required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • State licensure required where applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ultrasound experience preferred
  • Proficiency in performing general, abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, or specialty ultrasound examinations as required by the assignment
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques, anatomy, physiology, and patient care practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
  • Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced healthcare environment
