Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist to perform high-quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures for patients of all ages. The CT Technologist will operate advanced imaging equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, administer contrast media when appropriate, and collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare, position, and educate patients for CT examinations
- Operate and maintain CT scanners and related imaging equipment
- Administer contrast media as appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Evaluate image quality and repeat studies when necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and maintain ALARA principles
- Monitor patient condition throughout imaging procedures and respond to emergencies as needed
- Maintain accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), PACS, and Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely patient care
- Perform routine equipment quality checks and report maintenance concerns
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and departmental policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Active ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required
- ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required or obtained within the timeframe specified by the facility
- Active state radiologic technologist license, where required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent CT Technologist experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging, cross-sectional anatomy, radiation safety, and contrast administration
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
