Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist (Ultrasound Tech) to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions. The Ultrasound Technologist will operate ultrasound equipment, ensure patient safety and comfort, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols
- Prepare, position, and educate patients for ultrasound procedures
- Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Perform abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, small parts, and other ultrasound examinations as assigned
- Evaluate image quality and ensure complete studies for physician interpretation
- Recognize and report significant or abnormal findings to the interpreting physician according to facility protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and PACS
- Perform routine equipment quality control and report equipment malfunctions
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Active state licensure where required
- Current ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography), ARRT (Sonography), or equivalent certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ultrasound/sonography experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound anatomy, physiology, scanning techniques, and image optimization
- Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hospital, outpatient imaging, emergency department, women's health, or vascular imaging settings
- Multiple ARDMS registries (AB, OB/GYN, RVT, BR, or Pediatric Sonography) preferred
- Previous travel or contract imaging experience preferred
- Experience performing vascular, breast, or musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
