Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations that assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions. The Sonographer will operate ultrasound equipment, obtain high-quality diagnostic images, ensure patient comfort and safety, and collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare and position patients for ultrasound procedures while ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Evaluate image quality and perform additional views when necessary
- Recognize abnormal findings and communicate urgent results according to facility protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), PACS, and Radiology Information System (RIS)
- Ensure proper care, maintenance, and quality control of ultrasound equipment
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and ALARA principles where applicable
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Active ARDMS, ARRT (Sonography), or CCI certification appropriate to the specialty
- Active state license where required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ultrasound/sonography experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques, anatomy, physiology, and patient care
- Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, breast, small parts, or general ultrasound imaging
- Additional ARDMS specialty certifications (e.g., Abdomen, OB/GYN, RVT) preferred
- Previous travel or contract imaging experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$71.69 - $76.57/hour
