Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Travel Physical Therapist (PT) to evaluate and treat patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or physical disabilities. The Physical Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and maximize patient independence while adapting quickly to new clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, manual therapy, and functional mobility interventions.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, body mechanics, and safe mobility techniques.
- Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices, orthotics, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment.
- Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in discharge planning and coordinate continuity of care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and fulfill travel assignment requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and patient mobility.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, or long-term care settings.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
- Strong adaptability and ability to quickly integrate into new clinical environments.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$54.20 - $59.08/hour
