Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide high-quality rehabilitative care across a variety of healthcare settings. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to improve functional independence, restore daily living skills, and enhance overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), upper extremity function, coordination, cognition, and fine motor skills.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, splints, orthotics, and environmental modifications to maximize patient independence.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve rehabilitation goals.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, safety precautions, and energy conservation strategies.
- Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in discharge planning and coordinate continuity of patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Adapt quickly to new facilities, workflows, and patient populations while maintaining exceptional patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic interventions, adaptive equipment, and functional assessment techniques.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, or long-term care settings.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, pediatric, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
- Strong adaptability and ability to integrate quickly into new clinical environments.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$54.20 - $59.08/hour
