Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat patients experiencing physical, developmental, or cognitive impairments. The Occupational Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans to improve functional independence and quality of life while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team across various care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and physician referrals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, strength, coordination, and cognitive function.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, splints, orthotics, and environmental modifications to promote patient independence.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and safety techniques.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain travel assignment requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, adaptive equipment, therapeutic interventions, and patient assessment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient therapy, skilled nursing facilities (SNF), home health, or long-term care settings.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, pediatric, and post-surgical patients.
- Strong adaptability and ability to quickly integrate into new clinical environments.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$33.68 - $38.56/hour
