Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Travel Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality nursing care in a variety of healthcare settings. The Travel LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, delivering direct patient care, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting interdisciplinary teams while adapting quickly to new clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans
- Administer medications, injections, wound care, IV therapy (where permitted), and prescribed treatments
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and promptly report changes to the supervising RN or provider
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Collect specimens and perform nursing procedures within the LPN scope of practice
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting comfort and safety
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, and health maintenance
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare professionals
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Adapt quickly to varying clinical environments, workflows, and patient populations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent LPN experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, patient assessment, wound care, and nursing procedures
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to new facilities and clinical settings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, outpatient, or clinic settings
- IV Therapy certification where permitted by state regulations
- Wound care experience preferred
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
- Strong teamwork, flexibility, and patient-centered care skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$37.90 - $42.78/hour
