Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Travel Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will help patients improve functional abilities, independence, mobility, and daily living skills while adapting to different healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and functional skills.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional tasks.
  • Train patients in adaptive techniques, assistive devices, and safety strategies.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the supervising OT.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, home programs, and safe functional techniques.
  • Maintain accurate treatment documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with OTs, physicians, nurses, PTs, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adapt quickly to different facilities, workflows, and patient populations.
  • Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Active COTA license in the state of practice.
  • Current NBCOT certification preferred/required as applicable.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent COTA experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy techniques, ADL training, rehabilitation, and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous travel healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, SNF, home health, or long-term care settings.
  • Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, post-surgical, or medically complex patients.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Pay Rate
$39.00 - $43.88/hour
