Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide rehabilitative care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will implement individualized treatment plans to help patients regain independence in daily living activities, improve functional abilities, and achieve rehabilitation goals while adapting to diverse healthcare settings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist patients in improving activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), mobility, coordination, and fine motor skills.
  • Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance strength, balance, range of motion, and functional independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment responses to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and safety techniques.
  • Document patient treatments, progress, and outcomes accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Prepare treatment areas and maintain therapy equipment in a safe and organized condition.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Adapt quickly to new clinical environments while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification through NBCOT.
  • Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state of practice.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Occupational Therapy Assistant experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic activities, ADL training, adaptive equipment, and patient mobility.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$39.00 - $43.88/hour
