Surgical Services Circulator – Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Summary
Provide safe and efficient perioperative nursing care to surgical patients throughout their procedures. Coordinate operating room activities, maintain patient safety, and support the surgical team during all phases of surgery.
Responsibilities
- Perform preoperative assessments and verify patient identity, procedure, consent, and surgical site.
- Prepare the operating room, equipment, supplies, and instruments.
- Serve as the circulating RN and coordinate activities during surgical procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical safety checks.
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete surgical counts.
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes or emergencies.
- Maintain sterile technique, infection prevention, and patient-safety standards.
- Handle and document surgical specimens appropriately.
- Communicate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other surgical staff.
- Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN license in the applicable state.
- Previous Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience required.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred, as applicable.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong clinical, organizational, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
Pay Rate
$64.28 - $69.16/hour
