Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Scrub Technician to assist surgeons and the perioperative team during surgical procedures. The Surgical Scrub Tech will prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, manage surgical instruments and supplies, and help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies before procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
  • Pass instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies to surgeons during surgery.
  • Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts according to established protocols.
  • Prepare, inspect, and troubleshoot surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and specimen handling.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote efficient workflow.
  • Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room or Surgical Scrub experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, aseptic practices, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA.
  • Experience in multiple surgical specialties, including orthopedic, general, cardiovascular, vascular, neurosurgery, ENT, urology, gynecology, or robotic surgery.
  • Previous experience in an acute care hospital or ambulatory surgery center.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
