Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Scrub Technologist to assist surgeons and the perioperative team during surgical procedures. The Surgical Scrub Technologist will prepare the operating room, maintain a sterile field, manage surgical instruments and supplies, and support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize the operating room with sterile instruments, equipment, and surgical supplies
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures using aseptic techniques
  • Assist surgeons by anticipating procedural needs and passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
  • Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other items before, during, and after procedures
  • Prepare and handle surgical specimens according to facility protocols
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical draping
  • Inspect, clean, and ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and other perioperative staff to ensure efficient surgical workflow
  • Document surgical supplies, implants, and procedural information accurately
  • Adhere to infection prevention standards, patient safety protocols, HIPAA regulations, and operating room policies
  • Assist with emergency procedures and maintain readiness for urgent surgical cases
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized operating room environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent surgical scrub experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and perioperative procedures
  • Experience assisting with a variety of surgical specialties preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered surgical care
