Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Scrub Technician to assist surgeons and the perioperative team during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field, preparing surgical instruments, and ensuring the availability of supplies and equipment. The Surgical Scrub Technician plays a vital role in promoting patient safety and supporting efficient surgical operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to surgical procedures
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures
  • Scrub in and assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies during surgery
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to facilitate efficient procedures
  • Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts according to established protocols
  • Prepare, inspect, and organize surgical instruments and specialty equipment
  • Handle specimens properly for laboratory analysis according to facility procedures
  • Clean, sterilize, and restock instruments and surgical equipment after procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons, Registered Nurses, anesthesia providers, and other operating room staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation as required by facility policies
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, AORN guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA preferred or required based on facility requirements
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room/Scrub Technician experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, aseptic practices, and operating room procedures
  • Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
  • Experience with orthopedic, general, vascular, neurosurgery, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, or robotic procedures preferred

Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
